What is PreZoom?
Quite simply, Prezoom is a tool.
It is a tool that allows you to shop as if you were in the UK without worrying about high shipping fees. It allows you to shop at a whole host of merchants where you couldn't shop before because they either didn't deliver to your country or because their charges to do so were unbelievably high.
It's simple. Shop where you want, and don't get put off by what you think it will cost to get it to you!
Do you charge for Customs Clearance?
We charge for Customs Clearance only when duty and GST are due based on which country we're shipping to.
Do I have to pay any fees when my parcel reaches my country?
All of your fees are included in the email you get from PreZoom asking for payment. This includes shipping, customs clearance and duty and GST if they apply. You will not be asked for any other fees when your parcel reaches your country.
Do I have to pay extra for Customs Clearance?
Nope, there are no Customs clearance fees in Hong Kong.
When will my package be shipped to me from my PreZoom address?
We ship to gateway airports in your country on a schedule of set departures during the week. Packages are shipped no later than 48 hours after payment is received, unless held for specific reasons (restricted items, payment issues, etc.)
Does PreZoom receive shipments on the weekends?
We are now open 5 days a week in the UK. We are closed Sundays and UK National Holidays only.
What if the merchant will not take my order without a British phone number to match to the shipping address?
You can put our British (01276) 682 042 phone numbers in the space where they're required. Please note these are NOT numbers to use for customer service or any purpose other than filling in the shipping address credentials on a merchant's order form
Does PreZoom offer a service where small parcels can be consolidated from different merchants into one order?
Unfortunately, at this time PreZoom does not offer a consolidation service, though it is something we are considering for the future. Our focus is on making delivery prices so low that customers don't have to consider consolidating when making their purchases.
What kinds of things can't I ship?
There are many kinds of items that are prohibited to export from the UK, to ship by air, to import into Hong Kong or that PreZoom simply doesn't carry. Below is a list of some of the most common prohibited items. If you have any query about an item not on the list, by all means feel free to ask us, we will respond quickly.
Ammunition or weapon accessories
Batteries (lithium, sent alone)*
Beverages (alcohol or not)
Cigarettes or Tobacco
Cologne or essences containing alcohol
Currency in any form
Fireworks or any type of explosives
Nail Polish or cosmetics containing alcohol
Perfume or essences containing alcohol
Pharmaceuticals, prescription or not
Precious stones, metals or alloys
Weapons of any kind
*New lithium ion batteries, like the kind used in cell phones, as long as they are in original factory packaging, can often be sent, whether by themselves or separate from the devices they fit inside. They must not exceed 20 watt hours (Wh) per cell, 4 cells per battery, or 100Wh per battery. Most batteries do not list Wh as a spec, but they do list mAh (milliampere hours) and V (volts). mAh/1000*V=Wh/battery. Example:
2100mAh and 3.7V
This battery is accepted for shipping by PreZoom. Feel free to email us individually for any questions. Generally, cell phone batteries (as long as they are not specifically extended batteries) are OK, while anything larger (i.e. laptop batteries) are not. To be absolutely sure, request the MSDS sheet from the merchant before purchasing and ask us if it's OK for shipping.
How do I pay for my shipments?
Each time you order from a UK merchant, you will give them your PreZoom domestic address and you will enter your name and account number in the merchant provided address fields. When your shipment arrives at PreZoom’s facility, we will scan it, weigh it, take its dimensions and make it visible in our system. At that time you will get an email with all of the charges and a click-through link for credit card payment.
How long will it take to receive my shipment?
See our Transit Times page for the number of days it takes to deliver from receipt at our UK facility to your door.
Packages and documents will be delivered to the address you entered when you registered.
What will PreZoom bill me for?
We bill you the delivery charge for shipping from our UK facility to your door (at actual or dimensional weight), customs clearance charges and duties and GST (if applicable).
Charges are for weight or dimensional weight and are charged in 500g or 1kg increments. You can see charges for your country by going on our Typical Rates page.
Duties and GST if applicable, are charged at the time shipping is charged, and are based on the value you provide. Note that you are responsible for the values represented to Customs on your behalf.
Dimensional weight is calculated based on the dimensions (in inches) of the shipping bag or carton. If the multiplied combination of Length, Width and Height, all divided by 139, exceeds the actual weight of the shipment in lbs, then this number becomes the actual weight of the shipment for charging purposes. Note that 500g = 1.102 lbs. and that 1cm = 0.3937 inches.
How do I use my PreZoom Address?
Enter your PreZoom address this way whenever you shop online in a UK store:

Your PreZoom Account Number identifies your goods when they arrive at our facility.
During the store's checkout process, enter the PreZoom Account Number after your name.

You will have access to MyPreZoom, an area that you can securely log into, view the status of current and past shipments, plus update your personal profile.
Which credit cards does PreZoom accept?
PreZoom accepts Discover, MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
How is the PreZoom site made secure?
PreZoom utilizes some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. When you access our site, using industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, your information is protected using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to you and completely inaccessible to others.
What can I do to protect my information?
Protect yourself against anyone accessing your password, especially when using a shared computer. Always turn it off when you are done.
What if I forgot my password?
The MyPreZoom Login page guides you to retrieving your password.
What if the store rejects my credit card's international billing address?
Ask your credit card company to add your PreZoom Address as a second Billing address to your account. Merchants may accept your PreZoom Address at check out, as both your Shipping and Billing addresses. If available, use Pay Pal as an alternative, if accepted by the online store.
What payment methods do you accept.
Currently, we accept American Express, Mastercard and Visa. We are working on others and will keep you updated.
How do I pay for my PreZoom charges?
Each time we receive a package for you from a merchant, we will log the details in your MyPreZoom account. You will automatically then receive an email with your total charges and a payment link.
How long should it take for Prezoom to allow me to know my shipping charges and pay for my shipment?
As long as the shipment is properly labeled with your name and PZ account number on the domestic label, it should take no more than 1 business day to get your payment email to you.
What is your policy on shipping catalogs that arrive in the mail?
Very often, customers will receive catalogs from merchants they ordered from. We know that most customers don't expect these catalogs and certainly don't want to pay PreZoom to ship them. Our policy is to recycle catalogs and other printed material received unsolicited from merchants for our customers.
Are my shipments insured?
Shipments are insured to their maximum value or $100, whichever is lower. Additional insurance may be purchased if desired.
Can I track my shipments?
You can track current and past shipments by either logging into MyPreZoom or by using the Shipment Management & Tracking feature on each page. The tracking page will list the status of your shipments, and show their approximate location on a world map.
I'm trying to check out and I get error messages. What might be the reason for that?
Right now, there are some unsupported formats for checkout. Most notoriously we haven't yet built IPad compatibility, but there are some others. We are developing a suite of compatibilities across a wide variety of formats in the near future.
I received my parcel, but I don't like what I received. Do you offer a returns service so I can return my goods to the merchant?
Unfortunately at this stage we do not offer a returns service. Stay tuned for updates on this subject though.
